Emergency Evacuation Plan

Evacuation Plan

  1. In the event of an emergency the building is split into three main zones (see diagrams at the bottom of this page):
  • Blue Zone: Front half of the chapel downstairs and kitchen
  • Yellow Zone: Back half of the chapel downstairs and gallery
  • Green Zone: School room
  1. The front half of the downstairs congregation (blue zone) are to leave through the marked Fire Exit door leading into the kitchen, down the passageway and out of the smaller gate at the end of the passageway.  Unless otherwise directed by a Fire Marshal, do not attempt to leave through the vestry door as for security reasons the door from the vestry is locked during services – also congestion would arise from those leaving the schoolroom through the schoolroom Fire Exit door.
  1. The back half of the downstairs congregation (yellow zone) are to leave through the main doors of the chapel and out of the main gate.
  1. The gallery congregation (yellow zone) are to leave by both staircases through the main front doors of the chapel and out of the main gate.
  1. Occupants of the schoolroom (green zone) are to leave through the marked Fire Exit door at the front of the schoolroom, down the side passageway and out of the main gate.
  1. Always obey the instructions of the Fire Marshals.
  1. Notify your Fire Marshal immediately of any persons you know who have not reached the assembly point and who may still be in the building.
  1. Do not return to the building until you have been told to do so by your Fire Marshal or a fire brigade officer once the all-clear has been given.
